First look: Renderings show new Peninsula Beach Resort coming to Galveston in 2024 with private airport and largest bar on the Gulf Coast
You’ll never want to leave the beach after a new 110-acre resort is completed in Galveston.
Peninsula Beach Resort says it will have the largest beach bar in Texas and the first resort with a private airport in the United States. Its beach bar is first scheduled to open in 2024 before the clubhouse and cottages are ready later this year.
New renderings from property development company Bolivar Investment Group show how impressive the resort will be once built. Here’s a preview of the resort and the build order.
1. The Zoo Beach Bar & Grill
With more than 41,000 square feet of dining and entertainment space, Zoo Beach Bar is poised to become the largest beach bar in Texas. The name “The Zoo” comes from the nickname of the most popular part of Crystal Beach, known for being rowdy.
The bar will feature large-screen TVs and a patio that overlooks the beach volleyball and pickleball courts.
It will have a soft launch in spring 2024 before a grand opening later this summer. All other parts of the resort are not expected to be completed by summer.
2. Peninsula resort cottages
Gain access to a private beach when you stay at peninsula resort cottages. Nestled over ponds, there will be 222 one- and four-bedroom units. Units can accommodate up to 24 guests. Staying in the cottages grants you access to all of the resort’s other amenities, including a recreational lake.
3. Peninsula Beach Club
The private guest Clubhouse takes the fun to the beach with two lap pools, pickleball courts, cabanas, a restaurant and shaded wrap around porches.
4. Esplanade Baths
For relaxation, the Esplanade Spa features private baths, whirlpool tubs, massage rooms, steam and dry saunas, and a heated outdoor pool.
Construction will begin in the first quarter of 2024.
5. RV site
There will be 50 extra-large RV pitches with private enclaves overhead. The enclaves will have a living and dining area with a fireplace, a full bathroom, and a kitchen.
A dog park, laundry station, convenience store, barbecue grill, as well as golf cart rentals and picnic pavilions will be available.
6. Houses by the sea
Construction on 90 two- and four-bedroom beach homes is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2024. The website hasn’t released price ranges yet.
The homes, built to withstand hurricane-force winds, will have an open living room and dining room with wine storage under the kitchen island. Everyone will have a large expansive deck.
A model home will be available for viewing in spring 2024, the developers say.
7. Mid-rise condominium towers
Five oceanfront mid-rise condominiums comprising 160 one-, two-, and three-bedroom units will also be the works of the resort. Condominiums will have elevators, guest parking and storage on private access driveways.
8. Mall
And so you don’t have to travel far for take-out or beach clothes, 1,400 square feet have been dedicated to a commercial shopping mall.
Just along Highway 87, guests will have access to shopping or dining options. Resellers have not yet been announced.
9. Private airport
And finally, the final stage will be what sets this resort apart, the developers say. The addition of an FAA approved airport will make it the only fly-in beach resort in the United States
With this airport, people will be able to fly directly to the resort from over 30 major cities in the south central United States
Construction will start in 2025.
