Fort Worth firefighters rescued residents and pets from devastating blaze

On the evening of September 12, 2023, at 9:00 PM, a fire broke out at the Borough apartment complex located in the 5900 Block of Greenspoint Drive. The Fort Worth Fire Department quickly responded to numerous emergency calls from the apartment’s residents.

When the firefighters arrived, they found multiple apartments engulfed in flames, posing significant risks to residents and properties. Engine 20 heroically saved two residents from their burning apartment. After rescuing them, medical assistance was provided on the spot to prevent further injuries.

Three residents needed medical attention due to the fire. Two of them were taken to nearby hospitals for thorough examination and treatment, while the third received medical care at the scene. The firefighters also managed to save a dog from the fire.

It took about an hour for the firefighters to control and extinguish the flames. The fire affected 12 apartments in total, displacing eight tenants.

To assist the affected residents, the American Red Cross Greater North Texas provided immediate disaster-relief support, Dallas Metro News reported.

Two firefighters received minor burn injuries while battling the fire. However, the Fort Worth Fire Department confirmed that their injuries were minor and both are expected to recover fully.
