Takis donates recycled bike racks to Dallas-area high schools

Takis® aims to reduce waste and promote alternative means of transportation with the help of TerraCycle®

TRENTON, NJ (March 13, 2023) – Takis®, the popular brand of spicy rolled tortilla chips, has partnered with international recycling leader TerraCycle to give bike racks made from recycled materials to 15 Dallas-area high schools. Each Dallas high school also received $1,000 as a gift to their Environmental Club or a similar school-led environmental initiative.

Taking this partnership to the next level, Takis® has also partnered with TerraCycle for the Takis® Snacks Free Recycling Program. Consumers are encouraged to create an account at TerraCycle.com, sign up for the Takis® Snacks Free Recycling Program page, and ship the empty snack box using the prepaid shipping label provided. Once collected, the packaging is cleaned and melted into hard plastic that can be reshaped into new recycled products. The Takis® Snacks Free Recycling Program and bike rack grants are just the brand’s newest sustainability initiatives.
