Dallas ISD Early Learning team goes door-to-door to promote pre-K registration
Last week, the Early Learning team of the Dallas Independent School District (ISD) hit the streets, spreading awareness about the importance of pre-K programs in the community.
The team knocked on the doors of dozens of homes across 30 Dallas neighborhoods, providing parents with valuable information about pre-K enrollment opportunities for their children.
The strategic recruitment strategy, known as “Pressing the Pavement,” was designed to strengthen the connection between parents and teachers and ensure that every child in the district had access to the best pre-K educational opportunities. By visiting local businesses in the neighborhoods, the Early Learning team went the extra mile to provide registration information and answer questions parents had about the enrollment process.
Yesenia Ramirez, Director of Early Learning, stated, “Pressing the Pavement is a strategic recruitment strategy to support our families with Pre-K registration information in their community. The Early Learning teams knock door to door and visit local businesses to provide Pre-K registration information and be able to answer questions our families may have.”
For the 2023-2024 school year, pre-K online registration will be available starting on Saturday, April 1, 2023. Parents are encouraged to take advantage of the Early Learning team’s registration pop-up events throughout the district. Additionally, interested families can text “PREK” to (972) 687-7735, visit prekdallas.org, or call the Pre-K Enrollment Hotline at (214) 932-7735 for more information.
The Early Learning team’s outreach effort is an essential part of the district’s commitment to providing excellent educational opportunities to every student in its care, regardless of any location-specific challenges. Overall, the team’s dedication to ensuring that every child has access to quality education sets the stage for a lifetime of success for our youngest learners.
